If you lived through the 80's, you already know who the Stray Cats were. Guitarist Brian Setzer started the rockabilly band in 1979 with bassist Lee Rocker and drummer Slim Jim Phantom.
Their first two albums weren't released in the US, but they became sensations in the UK with them. A year later, a compilation of tracks from those first records was issued in their native land, and made them world-wide successes.
After a string of hits in the early eighties, they began a lengthy period of break ups, reformations, side projects, and albums that, as time went on, had less and less critical acclaim and sales. Which is too bad, because their first batch of albums were hot, and their live show was always top notch.

Love love love the SCats. There's a reunion I would love to see. I saw Brian Setzer with his orchestra in Orlando about 10 or so years ago & he was so full of energy. Ah well...
