DE LA SOUL

Hip hop group De La Soul formed in Long Island, New York in the late eighties, while still in High School.

I mentioned back around Christmas that I'm a fan of their first two albums, thanks to a former co-worker from New York.

They recently announced that they're working on a new album, tentatively titled You're Welcome, scheduled to be released in 2010. I figured I'd use that news as a reason to post a batch of their b-sides and collaborations.

Most of these are from their early days (like, say, the time of their first two albums). Though they do continue to collaborate with many other acts - notably receiving a Grammy for "Feel Good, Inc.", the song they did with Gorillaz. In fact, Gorillaz' Damon Albarn is said to be guesting on the new album.
